The National Capital Region Tamil Association (NCRTA) held its first annual general meeting on Oct 29, 2005, at Walter Baker Centre in Ottawa. Elections were held for executives and directors of the 15 member 2005-2006 board.
The positions elected were President, Vice-President, Secretary, Assistant-Secretary, Treasurer, Cultural Coordinator, Youth Coordinator, and Sports Coordinator. In addition, seven directors including 3 Chapter Coordinator (Ottawa Nepean, Ottawa West, Ottawa East/Centre) were also elected.
After the elections the new board discussed its plans for the coming year. These include events for children, seniors, and the 2006 Indoor Winter Picnic planned for February 2006.
NCRTA would like to thank all those who participated and gave valuable input during its first AGM.
