As in the past two years, in the spirit of the holiday season, NCRTA is organizing its third annual food drive to benefit the Ottawa Food Bank.
The Ottawa Food Bank collects, stores and distributes food to its 140 member agencies serving people in need in the Ottawa area.The Ottawa Food Bank provides emergency food to 45,000 people a month . 37% of those being children. Please participate in NCRTA's food drive and help feed the hungry in our community.
The food drive will run between December 01, 2011 and December 15, 2011.
Here's how you can help:
Spread the word about the NCRTA food drive to your friends and families.
Donate cash. Tax receipt will be provided for donations over $10. Note: Every dollar donated provides five dollars worth of food for our community.
Donate non-perishable food items at one of the following drop off locations:
- Tamil language schools (both Friday evenings and Saturday mornings)
- Ottawa Sivan Temple
- Sunday Yoga classes in Kanata
- ULTC session on Saturday December 10th
In an attempt to reach the wider Tamil community, we have contacted sports clubs and other organizations to collect food items or cash.
